MHS BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT THIS THURSDAY

MHS Back to School Night is this Thursday, September 18 from 6:30 – 8:30pm. Parents/Guardians should report to their student’s period 1 classroom for a brief welcome by Mr. Freeman.

Parents/Guardians will follow their student’s schedule, attending all 8 full year/semester 1 classes. During each 8-minute class session, general questions about the course and curriculum will be addressed. If you wish to discuss specific concerns about your student, please contact their school counselor and/or teachers at another time.

Science Lab Classes: Parents/Guardians should not report to the lab portion of science classes, as this information will already be provided during the main class session.

Freshman Study Halls: During Back to School Night, 9th grade Study Halls will meet in the Atrium (Annex Cafeteria) at the scheduled time. An overview of Teen Mental Health First Aid, a program that will be implemented in all Freshman Health classes during the 2025–2026 school year, will be presented.

P.E., Health and Driver’s Ed. (10th-12th Grade): All Phys. Ed., Health and Driver’s Ed. classes scheduled in the main building (for grades 10-12), will meet in the Large Gym (Main Building).

Parents/Guardians will have an opportunity to visit the PTA, MFEE, IMANI, MHS Restorative Justice, and Project Graduation tables. We strongly encourage parents/guardians to visit during Study Hall periods.

MHS SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE

MHS PTA is kicking off our annual supply drive to help ensure our students and staff have the tools they need for a successful year. We’re collecting essential items such as notebooks, pens, pencils, folders, tissues, and hand sanitizer. Your support will make a real difference in our classrooms! Shop our supply drive wishlist here, now through 10/15/25.

The Montclair Public Library is providing FREE support again for our High Schoolers who are preparing for the college admissions process. Our friends at Stand Out for College will help families of high school juniors, sophomores, and freshmen better understand the college admissions process and successfully navigate the changing landscape.
